♥♥♥ LOVING YOU BIG ♥♥♥

Throughout history, valentines day has been celebrated and remembered as a day of romance, roses and a box of chocolates and unless you are buying them for yourself, the single ladies of the world are left either ignoring the day or drowning in a bucket of ice cream. This must end. Valentines Day is a beautiful day and should be celebrated by everyone: couples and singles.Valentines Day is not black and white, it has shades of red and it represents more than just the love between two people, it represents a love of life.To all the people out there who claim that it is just a commercial day  and it's sole purpose is to increase consumerism…lighten up.Expensive gifts aren’t the only way to show your number 1 that they are loved. An authentic arts and craft job always goes down a treat and nothing can beat a plain old I love you. It’s an oldie but a goody.

Every girl no matter how much she tries to deny it, loves a gift and a little romance no matter how big or small. For us girls, we mean it when we say it’s the thought that counts. To our singles… being depressed over a lost love is so last year. I know it’s hard to hear, but  there is no reason to be blue about being single! Not only is the colour very last season, but you just gotta look at the overwhelming pros.

♥  You’re young

♥ You’re smoking hot

♥ You are no longer wasting your time with the guy who wasn’t for you, Mr Right finally has the green light

So Get the gals together, take out that sassy GFV dress, whip out the false lashes and step out for a night on the town. You never know which sexy single is strolling round the corner! Though its true that Valentines Day should be everyday, the bottom line is its not. We are only human and we forget to tell those we love just how much we care.

So come one, come all. GFV is imploring all of you to celebrate a love of food, passion, friends and fun.

Have a great day lovers

THREAD DEN meets GFV

Lots of giggles had! The sun was shining and the clothes were escaping us faster than we could restock the racks, could a Sunday afternoon get anymore perfect? For those crazies who didn’t get a chance to head down a couple Sundays ago, Thread Den (http://www.threadden.com) is a haven ” for sewers, followers of fashion and lovers of vintage.” And let us just say, it did not disappoint. Summer has finally kicked in and we aren’t the only ones excited about it. The number of cute little dresses we sold is a testament to this. Our summer stock is almost gone but never fear…. We are on top of it! A road trip to the countryside is much overdue and marked on our calendar. Will keep you posted kids! The best part of these markets? Seeing the pretty faces of all our supporters and getting to chat with you all about the essentials in life: style and vintage. We can never express enough, just how much love we receive and how grateful we are for this and this is why we will not rest until all you pretty ladies out there are vintaged out! Until next time kiddies GFV

The Ones That Got Away

A quick word from GFV head quarters: You snooze you loose kids, our items are disappearing fast! Thanks for all the support lovers, the next line of items will be dropping in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled and your mouse on BID.

MEREDITH

Yes, we know that Meredith was some weeks ago, but we kid you not, one half of GFV is still on the biggest high of the experience that is three days of cheeky drinks, dancing till the sun comes up and the sheer happiness that only sharing such moments with your best friends bring.

Ahhh Meredith… Booze, tents, gum boots and more booze. We came, we saw and we conquered the 20th annual Meredith Music Festival 2010. And who said the pretty ladies of GFV (Ok one half) couldn’t rough it out and live wild, literally, like Bear Grylls?

The countless memories, though blurred, are ones dominated by first-class friends, fun times and smooth tunes provided to us via the diaphragms of some of music’s finest names including “ Little Red” the soulful “Sharon Jones and the Dap- Kings”, and the legendary “Neil Finn”.

Note, to the fashionistas: Not only are Wellies an essential in the great Australian countryside, they are also super cute and super trendy. Gone are the days of the unsightly and masculine farmer gum boots. Present at Merideth was an array of boots with many different designs on display. And for those who like to keep it girly, I kid you not, there was one dare devil who was rocking a wedge on the bottom of her willies!

The vibe was indescribable, seriously, if you haven’t done a Meredith yet, you don’t know what you’re missing kid.

TRUESTYLE

Here at Grandmas Finest, we too, have tear stained vogue magazines as we have also wept whilst turning each page, drenching unaffordable item to unaffordable item. We too have attempted to save fruitlessly to snag that pair of Christian Loubiton pumps only to be denied the stiletto of our dreams due to the many responsibilities and demands of a young woman’s lifestyle, bills, food, you know the drill. Ladies, we feel your pain and this is why we feel it is our duty to expose you to the wonders of the new way to shop, the thrifty act of mixing and matching.

Our mission statement, to provide you, our loyal army of fashionista’s with a blend of vintage threads with an upscale touch and a commercial edge.We believe that true style is about a mixture of the latest trends and best finds, from all co-ordinates of this crazy town.

True style is a melting pot of old and new, cheap and luxury items. At GFV we are not ashamed to admit that some days a cute Prada bag meets a Sportsgirls sweatshirt, a deep Chanel red lipstick and Rubi heels. Because Fashion is no longer defined by the price tag on the dress but the dress itself and the confidence you exude in it. It is a grave misconception that in order to dress well, you must max out that credit card. Say it with us ladies, you don’t have to break the bank to be glam. Breath-taking finds that are also great bargains are lurking around every corner, we promise. See the potential in everything, put the snobbery aside and just give clothes a chance no matter where they are from (okay, with the exception of our dear friend Supre. It may take a little getting used to but your bank account will thank you and you’ll be looking better than ever.

THE LAUNCH

The Fad Gallery played host to our intimate soiree Wednesday 24th of November (Sorry for the late post), the night was amazing, we boogied the night away to classics from Diana Ross, the Temptations and a little MJ, those nearest and dearest to us came through despite the heat and manged to hopefully walk away knowing one of two things, 1- what amazing people they have been, the endless support has been really touching and secondly what GFV means to us! Without getting to muchy it was definitely a night to remember! Take a peek at some of the snaps from the night.
